WHAT WE DO

How we connect people, resources and ideas

Waltham Forest Giving brings together residents, community organisations, businesses, funders and local partners to strengthen communities and create positive change across the borough. We connect people with opportunities to contribute, help communities access funding and resources, and build partnerships that respond to local priorities.

How we work

Everything we do is built around three connected strands that bring people, resources and ideas together to strengthen communities and create positive change across Waltham Forest.

Take action

Supporting community-led ideas and local action

We support residents, grassroots organisations and local groups to turn ideas into action. We believe local people understand their communities best and should have the opportunity to shape the change they want to see.

Share something

Connecting resources, skills and social value

We help connect businesses, organisations and local people with community projects and opportunities to give back. By sharing time, skills, knowledge and resources, we can strengthen local communities together.

Build together

Creating partnerships, networks and collective change

We bring together residents, community organisations, businesses, funders and local partners to share ideas, build relationships and work together around local priorities. We believe lasting change happens when people come together around a shared vision for Waltham Forest.

What We Focus On

Waltham Forest Giving focuses on three interconnected strategic priorities shaped by local evidence, community insight and lived experience.

Poverty

Supporting people facing financial hardship and inequality by connecting resources, opportunities and practical support.

Wellbeing

Improving mental, physical and social wellbeing by strengthening connection, inclusion and community participation.

Resilience

Building stronger communities by investing in local leadership, grassroots organisations and neighbourhood networks.

Our priorities are intentionally broad. Different communities experience different challenges, and we recognise that needs vary across Waltham Forest’s neighbourhoods. This flexible approach allows us to respond to emerging local issues, support community-led ideas and focus resources where they can make the greatest difference.
